Important Recommendation

The Prophecy team recommends administering the Dysrhythmia Interpretation & Measurment exam in addition to any of these Critical Care Exams to ensure competency level on measurement in EKG tracing as well as critical interpretations.

General ICU Exam

The Prophecy Critical Care Exam determines clinical competency based on a critical patient population inclusive of all general disease pathologies familiar to the general ICU setting. The critical care assessment encompasses knowledge of disease processes and appropriate nursing interventions common in the General ICU, including specific focuses on:

  • Cardiovascular
  • Pulmonary
  • Endocrine
  • Neurology
  • Renal
  • Multi-system

This critical care nursing exam also includes a Pharmacology component, focusing on medication administration and identification, therefore you will not need to administer a separate Pharmacology Exam.


PICU Exam

The PICU assessment is designed for the Registered Nurse caring for patients in the pediatric intensive care unit. It measures job knowledge for safe patient care, including:

  • Prioritization related to pediatric resuscitation
  • Thermoregulatory mechanics in the pediatric patient
  • Knowledge of pulse oximetry, N/G Tube placement, suctioning
  • Performing assessments in the pediatric patient
  • IV Flow rate calculations
  • IV fluids commonly administered in the pediatric patient
  • Dosage calculations
  • Protocols for Hypotensive pediatric patient
  • Fluid maintenance
  • Artificial airway maintenance
  • Caring for fractures in the pediatric population

To ensure competency, the following assessments should be given in conjunction with the PICU assessment:

  • Dysrhythmia + Measurement (ADVANCED)
  • Pediatric Pharmacology
  • RN Advanced Math Ability
  • RN Perceptual Ability
  • Infant Abduction

CVICU Exam

The CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) Exam determines clinician competency based on a critical patient population inclusive of the immediate post-op phase. This assessment has a complete Cardiovascular Pharmacology component, focusing on ACLS medications and medications used to effect cardiovascular status such as cardiac output and blood pressure. This specific pharmacology component negates the need to administer a separate Pharmacology Exam.


CCU Exam

The CCU (Coronary Care Unit) exam is designed to determine clinician competency in the Coronary Care Unit. The Pharmacology component has been integrated into this exam, focusing on specific medications used to treat situations common to the CCU patient. You will not need to administer a separate Pharmacology Exam.


Neuro ICU Exam

The Neuro ICU Exam is a new exam that determines clinician competency based on a critical patient population inclusive of all general disease pathologies familiar to the Neuro ICU setting. The Pharmacology component has been integrated into this exam, so there is no need to administer a separate Pharmacology Exam.


Surgical ICU Exam

The Surgical ICU exam is designed to determine clinician competency in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The Pharmacology component has been integrated into this exam, focusing on specific medications used to treat situations common to the Surgical ICU patient. You will not need to administer a separate Pharmacology Exam.


Trauma ICU Exam

The Trauma ICU exam is designed to determine clinician competency in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit. The Pharmacology component has been integrated into this exam, focusing on specific medications used to treat situations common to the ICU patient. You will not need to administer a separate Pharmacology Exam.
